About Me
Hello! My name is Lauren, and I am a 28 year old just trying to live life to the fullest.
Enjoying a glass of wine in Vieux Nice
Three of my favorite things in life are food, wine, and traveling. This is a blog about celebrating it all while living a balanced and satisfying life.
But let me back up a bit…
I graduated from Elon University in 2006 with a Major in Broadcast Communications, and a Minor in Psychology. The day after I graduated I boarded a plane to LA to pursue my dream of becoming a TV Host.

I lived in Los Angeles for two years working at EXTRA, E!, and STYLE. It was quite an amazing and surreal experience, but it wasn’t right for me at that point in my life. I proceeded to move back east, where I am originally from, and seek out the food and wine industry. I had always loved food and wine so I felt this was a perfect opportunity for me to learn more.

I took a job at Cecile’s Wine Cellar, now Chain Bridge Cellars, as a wine consultant in July 2008 and have been there ever since. I am now in charge of all the food buying in the store, and I handle the food for all of our tasting events.
It has been such an amazing challenge and treat to learn about wine, and I continue to keep learning everyday.
As part of my job requirement I completed Level 1 and 2 of the International Sommelier Guild, which was a HUGE accomplishment! You can read more about my wine background on the Wine Page.
Food is more to me than fuel. It is something that I think should be embraced and celebrated. I love trying food from around the world, and love learning about the culture behind it all.

In no way shape or form am I an expert on health, food, wine, or weight loss. I just know what I like and I like what I love. I am learning and growing everyday to be more knowledgeable in all these areas, and to be healthier and happier.

I have no idea what the future holds for me, but I am hopeful it is going to be something I love. I hope I can share my journey through life as I experience Food, Wine, and Traveling-some of the worlds greatest pleasures while maintaining healthy and happy!!

I just wanted to say that I love your blog! I too, was a Maryland transplant in LA for awhile and know just how challenging and different it can be (I moved out there in 2005 and then returned last year).
You are so lucky to have found your niche! I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts!
Just stumbled on your blog, and I love your story. I’m a bit of a ‘jump-arounder’ as well, all with the purpose of following my passions. I look forward to following you
Hi
You have an amazing blog. I started one as well, but its more of life blog – silliness, product reviews, book reviews. I think yours is great
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am excited to find yours as well and interested in reading more…. looks like we share some very similar interests!
I actually chose my school solely based on the location. I was already living and working in Miami, and I didn’t want to break my lease or find a new job. Taking undergrad courses wasn’t too bad. It was hard knowing that it would take longer to finish my degree, but I knew it would be worth it! Let me know if you have any other questions
Lauren,
I found a link to your blog on Fitnessista today, and I have to say I love it! I grew up in the DC area. It’s neat to see someone writing about somewhere close to home!
I love your blog, and will add it to my list to follow! I’m sorry to hear about your stress fracture! I am also suffering from a foot injury, and healing from surgery. It’s tough to get back into working out. What kinds of workouts have you been doing without putting impact on your foot? I’d love to hear some tips! I’m getting so bored and frustrated!!!
I just started a blog a few weeks ago! I’d love it if you checked it out and let me know what you think. I would love to hear any suggestions or ideas, especially about gaining traffic
