If you missed my first 2 posts on my Napa Trip, be sure to check them out. Best Food in Napa and My Favorite Wineries. This post goes hand in hand with my favorite wineries, but I wanted to just mention some of the best views I experienced while in Napa.
The first pretty amazing place I want to mention is Iron Horse Vineyards. Not only are the wines fantastic, but the scenery is lovely and they give a phenomenal and very educational tour. You can actually learn about the wine making process, and in this case Méthode Champenoise while you drink. If they taught Science to me with visuals and a glass of wine like that in high school, I would have definitely retained more information.
The views from Cade Winery are honestly breath taking. It is definitely worth the drive up Howell mountain (It’s about a 30 minute drive up the mountain). This was probably one of my favorite spots from the entire trip. And it just so happens the the only other 2 people in my tour group were another couple my age so I immediately made new friends. We ended up sitting outside enjoying a class of Chardonnay after the tour was over.
The view of Hennessey Lake on the way down the mountain from Chappellet is a pretty spectacular sight to see as well. And we were lucky because we got to experience this gorgeous drive on a really clear day.
For a couple days I worked at Reynolds Family Winery, and I thought this particular winery was really gorgeous. It’s tucked back on the Silverado Trail, and the winery is behind the Reynold’s Family house, but the entire property is really really pretty. I just really liked the homey look and feel of this winery.
I think something was in my Champagne because these last three places all included sparkling wine.
Domain Carneros was a place I had heard about over and over. Everyone said to end my day there, so that is just what we did. Although the veiw wasn’t as incredible as I thought because a major highway was in sight, the actual estate itself was definitely a must see.
Mumm Napa stole my heart too because it was just a really lovely place to enjoy some sparkling wine while sitting in the vineyards at small table covered by umbrellas. On a gorgeous day, this is a great place to sit back with friends, and take in the scenery.
And because I wanted to save the best for last, the views at Auberge de Soleil were simply the best in Napa. Everyone had recommended this restaurant to me, but finally my friend Jill and I had to check it out for ourselves. And I’m so glad we did. It’s an upscale hotel with a fine dining restaurant, and outdoor casual restaurant, and a spa. Although the restaurant is a little too upscale and hoighty toighty for me, the views were just gorgeous. We enjoyed a class of Champagne and some oysters while taking it all in. Most beautiful place in Napa in my opinion.
If you ever get a chance to go to Napa-definitely check out these spots. They are worth it all.
