At the Mexican Dinner Reception I attended last week I met Eduardo, who introduced me to Ahuacatlan Avocado Oil. He also featured his Avocado Oil at the Fancy Food Show, and after piquing my interest I made sure to stop by his booth and see him.
We all know avocados are extremely nutritious, and high in protein and healthy fats. Well the same goes for Avocado Oil. However, Avocado Oil also has the highest smoke point of any natural oil, which makes it suitable for high temperature cooking…think stir-fies, and sautéing. It is a great investment because you can use it both as a cooking oil or a finishing oil.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but after tasting the oil I found it to be very smooth, rich, and creamy, and I was very impressed by the flavored oils. My favorites are the garlic, lime, and chipotle flavors.
Chipotle Kale Chips
Wash, Dry, and Cut fresh kale up into small medium size pieces.
Drizzle on the oil of your choice, in this case I used the Ahuacatlan Chipotle Avocado Oil, and massage until distributed over the kale.
Place in a 450* oven for 10 minutes or until crispy.
I loved the spiciness of this oil with the kale chips. It gave them that spicy Chipotle flavor and an added pop.
Have you ever heard of or used Avocado Oil?

I haven’t heard of avocado oil and I still haven’t tried making kale chips so maybe I should try both!
