Parados Winemaker’s Reserve 2008

I picked this wine as the September Wine of the Month because this red is the perfect party wine. It is really great with food, but you can also drink it on it’s own. It’s inexpensive and very versatile. Big and rich with lovely fruit, but not too big that it is over powering. Great for summer, and really great for parties.

“This is as fine a red for spring and summer sipping and entertaining as anything we’ve ever seen at this price. The wine spends about two months in wood to soften it, but shows no oak flavors or aromas at all. It’s all about juicy red fruit with a little complicating note of spice and earth. Fresh and vibrant, the tannins on this wine are soft enough that it takes a chill well. Drink with burgers, grilled pork, meaty fish, or anything at a picnic. Fantastic value!” -Cecile’s Wine Cellar Notes

“The Winemaker’s Select is a highly attractive innovative blend of 40% Sangiovese, 40% Tempranillo and 20% Malbec. Star bright and medium ruby in color, it displays a pleasing red berry fruit nose with surprising intensity of ripe concentrated flavor and elegance on the palate. It is a great food wine and is offered at a bargain price.” iWine.com 90 points
