Mie N Yu for Restaurant Week

by Lauren on January 12, 2010

Last night I met up with my two friends, Kelly, and Ashley, for restaurant week in DC. There were so many restaurants to choose from, but we all decided on a cute place called Mie N Yu in Georgetown. I didn’t know much about the food at this restaurant, but I had stopped in once before and thought it was so adorable. The decor was so cute and the restaurant had an authentic Asian feel. You can check out the Restaurant Week Menu here.

Since we all wanted to try everything we each decided to get different dishes and share everything. All the food was really good, spicy, and full of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised. For appetizers we split the lettuce wraps and lamb kebobs.

For the entrees we decided on the Cantonese Wild Rockfish, Korean Bulgogi, and Sultan’s Steak. All three were delicious, but I have to say my favorite was the Korean Bulgogi. It was grilled local all natural beef, steamed rice, bibb lettuce, kimchee, red pepper chili sauce, garlic bean paste. Very good.

The desserts were not half bad either. Again we all order something different and shared. There was Mandarin “Ma Lai Go”, Valrhona Chocolate Cheesecake, and my favorite, Pecan Croustade. Warm pecan pie inside a crusty pastry with cinnamon whipped cream. Oh yea…it was good!

I am so happy we chose Mie N Yu because I have been wanting to go there for a while, and we were so happy the food was as good as the restaurant was cute. Such a fun night with the girls!

This morning I opted for a lighter breakfast since I definitely ate my fair share last night. I had a Trader Joe’s Banana Chocolate Chip Power Muffin, an orange, and some coffee.

Now I am working from home and trying to enjoy my day off!
