Do You Depend on Coffee?

by Lauren on January 7, 2010

Good Morning! The sun is shinning where I live, but don’t let that fool you because the high today is 33 degrees. YIKES! Last night I made one of the most simple dinners I’ve made in a long time. Stir-fry veggies and chicken. I used a bag of frozen stiry-fry veggies from Trader Joe’s and some fresh broccoli. I also made some thin noodles on the side to mimic rice noodles. I guess this works? Then drizzled my favorite yellow curry on top. This was really delightful.

However, I was not fancying the chicken so I swapped the chicken for more veggies. I’m sorry these pictures look horrible. The lighting in my apartment at night is the pits. I’m gonna have to work on that.

For dessert I tried one of Angela’s famous Glo Bars. I decided to try the Classic Glo Bar which is Chunky Peanut Butter.

I have to say at first I was a little surprised at the taste. I was not expecting it because I am so used to eating over sugary energy bars, and this was different. But after 2 bites my taste buds were immediately hooked. This little bar was extremely addicting. I opened it thinking I was only going to have half, but I found myself going back for more and more. Before I knew it, the whole bar was in my stomach. Angela, these bars are awesome! What is even cooler is that they are 100% vegan, dairy free, and organic.

Now that is hard to beat.

Ok, now onto this morning. I woke up not hungry, no thirsty, not anything. Despite my “not” feeling I poured myself a cup of coffee. Why do we always go straight to coffee? For most people coffee is a way to wake them up or help them feel energized. For me coffee doesn’t do any of that. I just simply like the thought of coffee in the morning, and I like the taste. Is that weird? So of course I had some coffee with stevia and organic creamer. I go back and forth from stevia to raw sugar because I can’t decide what I like more. Stevia is calorie free, but to me the raw sugar tastes better. It’s a toss up.

And after working on my computer for a bit I started to feel hungry so I made a breakfast that is a slight repeat of the other day. I had every intention of making just a small breakfast, but I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach. This thing turned out gigantic. So I decided to only eat half and save the other half for later.

I topped some organic vanilla yogurt with Goji Berry granola, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, and a sprinkle of chia seeds. Gotta get that chia power!

Let’s hope it powers me through my morning. I’m gonna need it! A Bientot!
