I LOVE SNOW

by Lauren on December 6, 2009

This weekend has been filled with taking pictures. Unfortunately I have not taken many pictures of my food. I’ve been on the go, and I just haven’t felt like taking any pictures. But don’t think that means I’m not eating healthy-I am. First let me share a few more pictures with you of the snow since I love it snow much!

That last one is a little better than the one earlier in the day. Much better done up-don’t you think. ;-)

After my pomegranate pancakes, Chris and I headed to the mall to do some Crucial Christmas Shopping. The roads were much worse than we thought they would be, but we made it there safe and sound.

We were running around the mall for a good 4 hours, and stopped for some lunch at Panera. It was very hard deciding on where to eat at the Food Court when our stomachs wanted the mall Chinese food, but we knew what was better for us. So I ordered the “You pick two” and had a 1/2 of a Mediterranean veggie sandwich and bowl of tomato soup. I went on the Panera website and was able to find out all the nutrition information for my meal. Not as good as I thought it would be, but MUCH better than the Chinese food I was thinking about. My meal was a total of 600 calories, 15g of protein, and WAY too high in fat and sodium. (so much that I’m embarrassed to put it on the blog). The tomato soup is really not that healthy for you. I will stick to a lower fat option next time.

This was a picture from the last time I went to Panera. Only difference was the soup. In the picture above is the Low Fat Veggie, which I would have gladly gotten if they were offering.

We later went to his parents house in hopes of going to the Christmas light show at the Marina in Old Town Alexandria, but it was still snowing like crazy, and the roads were not do good. So we decided to stay in and try a local favorite- Edy’s Chicken. This a a Peruvian chicken restaurant, and it was my first time having it. We got 2 whole chickens, french fries, yucca fries, and salads. The meal comes with a spicy green sauce, and a creamy white sauce. DELICIOUS, finger licking good roasted chicken! Oh I was in heaven.

After a great night filled with good wine, good food, good conversation we were ready to hit the road. But before we did I just had to take some pictures of all Chris’ moms beautiful Christmas decorations.

That last picture is of Chris’ little sister rooms. Of course she has a pink tree-I mean how cool is that!?!?!? When I got home, I added one little thing to my decorations to spruce it up a bit.

I feel like I’ve been talking about the holidays and showing more pictures of decorations than I have food! These next two weeks I need to focus my attention more on my exercising and eating. Christmas will be here before I know it, and I want to make sure I don’t let the holidays take a toll on me. However, my ankle is being not to nice to me, and still hurts like crazy. I’m leaning towards making a doctors appointment this week. Not good I tell ya, Not good. I’m gonna finish up this work day, and then Chris and I are heading back to the mall to do some exchanging.

Have a great and WARM Sunday night!

Ohhh man Peruvian chicken places are the best!! The sauces they give you…are they not to die for?! And yucca fries. I could talk all day about it. The place my family has been going for more than 20 years is Crisp & Juicy in Rockville. It’s amazing!
