HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Part 2

by Lauren on November 1, 2009

The rest of my day was really really chill. I wasn’t too hungry, but thought I would make myself some lunch. Unfortunately it turned out horrible and we went out to buy a frozen pizza.

I thought I would make myself a nice big salad with butter lettuce, tomato, dried cranberries, brown rice medley, toasted pine nuts, veggies, and Veggie Tempeh. I have never had Tempeh before so I picked some up at Whole Foods to give it a try.

Let’s just say Tempeh is not my thing. I tasted one bite, and threw the rest away. It just wasn’t for me. I had taken the rest of the veggies from last nights horrible dinner and rinsed them off under water trying to get most of the honey and soy off of them. Then I sauteed them in a pan with a little olive oil and seasoned salt. I was trying to reinvent them. I tasted a few, and they were ok so I added them on top of the salad. Topped with olive oil and balsamic and this is what you get. One HUGE salad.

It looks really good, but all the tastes were wrong. Nothing went well together. It was horrible, and maybe the worst salad I had ever had. I absoltuely HATE wasting food, but I knew I didn’t want to waste the calories so I threw it all away. How unfortunate. Chris I and immediately hit up the neighborhood grocery store in search for a better lunch. And of course we came to the isle that always does us right…the pizza isle. We got ANOTHER Newman’s Own Thin Crust Supreme. I think we have a thing for frozen pizza’s. I had 4 small slices, and lots of water. I do love this pizza, and I love that you don’t feel disgusting after eating it.

Later I popped a handful of chocolate covered edamame. It’s my Halloween candy!

I took a nap for a while, and then we got ready to go to his Aunt and Uncles house for a little Trick or Treating. Here is a recap of the night.

I had a kiwi in the car over to his family’s house.

We headed back to the house for Pizza. I had three slices of Papa John’s delicious pizza (2 BBQ Chicken, and 1 spinach) and more than enough candy. I wasn’t planning on eating any, but the candy bug bit me and I couldn’t help it. Only 2 chocolates and the rest were the fat free gummy types and tootsie rolls. About seven mini pieces all together. I know-it’s not ideal, but it HALLOWEEN! I had 1 beer with dinner and the rest water. After dinner we indulged in Apple Pie. Too bad it was the worst apple pie I have ever tasted. But for some reason I couldn’t push it away. I ate almost all of my piece when it wasn’t even good. Tisk Tisk…wasted calories. Hate when that happens.

I dressed up as a runner for Halloween. :-) I basically just wanted to wear my “Will run for Wine” shirt.

And we went home with full tummies and the cutest gift from Chris’ mom. Love it! I MUST have willpower to resist this candy this week. Hopefully Chris will eat it all before I can get to it.

Getting up early tomorrow to pound out 5 miles. Gotta run of this candy I ate tonight. Also Pile On the Miles Challenge starts tomorrow. I hope I get bit by the running bug in my sleep so I have motivation this month. And if you didn’t see my race recap from earlier today, check it out HERE.

Enjoy your one extra hour of sleep tonight…I know I will!
