Happy new week everyone! I am feeling revitalized and energized this morning. Finally my good spirits are back. Maybe its the weather? Maybe its the running? Maybe its the Green Monsters? Maybe its a combination of everything?!?!?!
Anywho-
I woke up early this morning and pushed through my morning routine.
- 2 sets 60 re leg lifts each leg
- 3 sets 20 reps kneeling push-ups
- 2 sets 50 reps bicycle crunches
This morning was pretty chilly when I started my run, but the sun came out and you could really feel the warmth. I almost got too hot, but all in all it was a good run. I did an easy 4 and a half miles. Here are the stats:
- Distance: 4.54miles
- Time: 40:25 min
- Average Pace: 8:54/mile
- Mile 1: 8:58
- Mile 2: 9:02
- Mile 3: 9:06
- Mile 4: 8:55
- Last .54 mile: 8:05(average pace)
Right when I got back I made my Green Monster. Today I made a very seasonal, thick, Pumpkin Pie Green Monster. I’m trying to change it up so I don’t get bored with the same one every day. I am going to challenge myself to make a different one every day.
Today’s ingredients include:
- 1.5 C Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
- 1 Tbs Flax Seeds
- 1 Tbs Maca Powder
- 1 packet Amazing Grass Greens Powder
- 3 heaping scoops of pumpkin purree
- 1 large frozen banana
- 3 big handfuls of fresh kale
- Various Spices; Cinnamon, Ginger, Pumpkin Pie Spice, Nutmeg

I decided to add Maca powder, which is a superfood that helps boost energy. It is rich in amino acids, phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals, and has been used as a traditional source of both food and medicine by indigenous people since the time of the Incas. Sounds good to me!

I put all the ingredients in the blender and blended away!

This green monster was thick and so delicious. It really tasted like pumpkin pie and had a bit of a kick from the ginger. It was filling and refreshing all at the same time.

I love you Green Monster-please give me energy today like you did yesterday!

I also had some coffee with Vanilla flavored Silk Creamer. I love these reusable travel mugs from 7/11.

And even better…

They are environmentally friendly. Gotta love it!
Last night after I left you I had some Tali’s Masala Chai Tea. This tea is from a company I used to work for called Art of Tea. I basically helped out wherever needed as a part time gig while I was living in Los Angeles. It was interesting because I would do their accounting and filing and organizing, but I would also help put together the teas into the bags, put stickers on them, and send them out. It was a very small company at the time, but their teas were in high end restaurants all over the country including Wolfgang Puck Restaurants, tea houses, and spas. The best part of the job, which is why I was hired, was to do tea sampling at red carpet and celebrity social functions. I basically learned everything about tea making and each on of the Art of Tea teas, and would set up a stand at the function to pass out samples of the tea. It was very surreal meeting the celebrities and explaining to them all about the tea. Charlize Theron is a huge supporter of the tea as are many other A-list celebrities. The teas are out of this world, and the company has really taken off.

Oh and I almost forgot to tell you-when I was running this morning I had to take a quick pit stop at the club house, and as I was walking into the restroom when something caught my eye. The nasty old gym I am always telling you about got a little makeover! There are 3 BRAND NEW treadmills, and elliptical, AND a TV! I am so so excited about this because this means I have a place to run when it is raining and I don’t have to join a gym! ALLELUIA!
That’s all for now. You have one more day to register for my Oikos Giveaway. I will be picking a winner tomorrow at 3pm!
Have a great Monday!
