A Night of Indulgence

by Lauren on November 4, 2009

Last night I had a wine dinner at the famous Citronelle. It was a spectacular night with amazing wine and and food. I will be doing a full recap on Friday for you, but here are a few pics from the night.

That last picture is winemaker Pascal Maillard and me. It was quite a treat to taste some of his most fabulous wines.

I definitely over indulged a bit, and feel a little sick today. My tummy has had better days. But it was so worth it. Just the chance to meet Michel Richard, one of the best chefs in America and probably in the world, was amazing in itself.

This morning I did not want to wake up. With all that rich food, and tasting over 12 wines , I just wanted to sleep in. Working out was the last thing on my mind this morning. I have to be honest-I’ve been in a weird funk this week, and it hasn’t been a very good week to start POTM Challenge. Work is getting busier and busier, and I’ve been really unmotivated.

I needed something pretty simple for breakfast so I had some peanut buttery oatmeal. I took 1 C oats and 1 C unsweetened almond milk in a Tupperware container to work. When I got there I heated it up in the microwave with about 2 Tbs of Peanut Butter & Co. White Chocolate PB. Stir it all up and you get ooey gooey peanut butter bliss.

Not fancy, not too special, but really yummy. Peanut Butter always makes everything better. Hopefully I get out of this funk soon!

Hello! I have recently come across your blog and just love it. I live in the DC area, too and I am so very envious of your dinner at Citronelle! Look forward to reading about it later this week. OH – no worries about being a funk. I think we all go through those weeks (esp. with time change and the random chilly weather).
