First of all I want to start this post out with this quote I saw on Twitter for @GreatestQuotes. “Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success” – Napoleon Hill
I really like this quote, and I especially like it for losing weight. Whenever I’m trying to lose any amount of weight I always want it to come off RIGHT away. We live in a fast paced world and have a fast paced mind set for everything. But some things just take time, patience, and persistence, and I think this is one of them.
Lunch was unbelievable. I eat pretty hefty lunches because my job requires me to be moving cases of wine up and down the stairs all day and I must have enough to keep me going.
As I said before lunch was leftovers from last nights dinner that I didn’t post. Although I made a few changes. We started out with La coquille de crustaçés gourmande Thermidor, which is a medley of shrimp, lobster, bay scallop, crab meat in a seashell with a glazed champagne sauce. Amazing right? Oh My Gosh!

I had a lot of this leftover and I knew I couldn’t eat all of it because I had such a big breakfast. So I took 2 spoonfuls and gave the rest to a co-worker. He recommended we try it with the Bzikot Puligny Montrachet 2007 to try with the seafood and it was an unbelievable pairing. HOLY YUM!

This wine has green apples, fresh butter, hazelnuts and limestone on the nose. The wine has flavors of apple, guava, fresh butter, nuts and a fine mineral streak. The richness in the mid-palate is striking – although it’s very energetic, there’s nothing lean or astringent about this wine. Complex and drinking beautifully now, but will also be good for the next 7-9 years.
We don’t drink at work-we taste (swirl around in mouth and spit), so this allowed me to get the taste of the wine with the food. Just in case you were wondering.
I had 3 strips of beef, the rest of my stiryfry veggies, and about 1/2 C roasted sweet potatoes. I don’t know what Patrice did to these potatoes, but they were some of the best sweet potatoes I’ve had. A little seasoning and perfecto!

I am pleased because I’m actually FULL after this lunch. I’m never full after lunch anymore. It is so annoying.
One of the exciting things I was going to share with you is that I was going to the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show in DC on November 7th. Patrice, Chris’ Step-dad, is doing a demonstration there and we were going to get VIP access. But unfortunately I got my days mixed up and he is demonstrating on the 8th, not the 7th, and I work on the 8th. So now I don’t get to go. Such a bummer-I was REALLY looking forward to this event. Especially for the blog. I guess there will always be other events to attend in the future!
That is all for now. I really hope my mood gets better soon. I’ve just been down in the dumps. I do have something very exciting to look forward to on Saturday so maybe I will start thinking about that to cheer me up. Can’t wait to tell you about it soon!

Nice photos by the way
Melbourne is a beautiful city, the architecture here is amazing and we have a real multi cultural/multi style/everybody kinda vibe.
I always felt a bit “out of place” in Brisbane because it is so small in comparison. Everyone is still friends with who they’re friends with in highschool (which isn’t a biggie if you actually had friends in highschool!).
But then I moved to Melbs and I started meeting ALL SORTS of different people, I felt like country mouse turned city mouse
All of a sudden I had this amazing group of friends who were just like me! I just needed a broader group to choose from because I’m a bit of an odd bod like that!
Not to mention Melbs has a festival for everything, the food is amazing, the live music scene is wonderful, and there’s a pub on every corner of my neighbourhood – perfection. Plus it’s vegan/vegie/alternative lifestyle friendly to boot!
I would love for you to visit if you ever get the chance, I’m super tour guide now I’ve had most of my family and friends visit!
I know you said you like long comments but this one’s probably getting a bit out of hand now!
Where do you live in the US? What’s the summer/winter like? I’m visiting NY next year and can’t wait
