Sunday Funday

Well not really-I’m at work. If you haven’t noticed I’ve been MIA lately. Friday and Saturday are my 2 days off and I was running around doing errands like a chicken with my head cut off. I had so many things I wanted to do that just kept piling up, and I finally took the time to finish them all. WHEW!

Some exciting news-I got a new camera! Not because I wanted to, but because the other one just stopped working…and it wasn’t the battery. I was bummed because I can’t really afford a new camera right now, and was happy with the other one. I was at Costco on Friday picking up some goods and noticed they had a Cannon Powershot on sale so I ran back there yesterday, Saturday, and picked one up.

I really like it so far, but I’m still getting used to it. My other camera was more comfortable to me, but I know this one can be just as good.

A little background story on me and cameras. Ever since I got my very first digital camera I have lost or broken them. The Cannon that just stopped working yesterday was my 4th digital camera in like 3 or 4 years. I had it for about 2 years (the longest I’ve ever kept a camera) and grew to love it. I couldn’t believe I had a camera for 2 years with out losing or breaking it, and then yesterday it just stopped working. So I hope my new camera will be good to me, and I will learn to love it as well.

There are things the old one does that the new one doesn’t, but there are things the new one does the old one doesn’t. I guess I’ll get used to it.

I had some pretty amazing breakfasts over the past few days. I got this idea from Kristen’s blog and decided to try it, but my own version. I add 1/2 C Kashi Go Lean Crunch, 1/2 C Kashi Heart to Heart, fruit, Peanut Butter & Co Mighty Maple Peanut Butter, and yogurt. I mixed up the concoction and microwaved it for 2 minutes till warm and gooey. This is soooo good! It is right up there with oatmeal!

I had the same breakfast bowl Friday and Saturday morning with a peach, 2 Tbs of Peanut Butter, and Trader Joe’s Honey flavored greek yogurt.

Today I had a breakfast bowl with raspberries, Trader Joe’s non fat black cherry yogurt, and 1 Tbs Peanut Butter. The difference in yogurt and fruit really threw me for a loop, but was just as tasty.

I absolutely love Peanut Butter in everything, and I think it really makes this bowl. It warm and gooey, and oh so good. I have 2 jars that are just about empty. I see oats in a jar for breakfast in my near future!

Lunch was something I had before, but again I changed it up a bit.

  • 1 can tuna in water drained
  • 2 heaping Tbs hummus
  • 1 carrot diced
  • 1 Roma tomato diced
  • sprinkling of low-fat feta
  • salt and pepper to taste

I ate this wonderful tuna salad with a whole wheat tortilla ‘chips’. This was really really yummy believe it or not. All the flavors really meshed well together. I’m definitely going to do this again!

In other news-I decided to sign up for a group run on Tuesday hosted by Georgetown Running Co. in Chevy Chase. I’ve been looking for people to run with so I thought this was a great opportunity to do a night run with other runners in the area. I can’t wait!

I also may be signing up for Body & Soul Fitness. Ever heard of it? Well Chris’ mom does it and loves it. It takes place at a baptist church and it is a cardio/strength work out, and their motto is “Where Faith and Fitness Meet”. I’ve been looking for a church/place of worship in my area, but not really sure where to go so I thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to get some prayer in while working out. I’m a little nervous, but we’ll see how it goes.

I changed up my workout schedule to fit my new class/runs. I am going to try them both out to see how it goes, and then decide after that if I want to make permanent changes.

I didn’t workout this morning, but I brought my running clothes to work so I can change right after I am done and do a lovely 5 miles in the neighborhoods behind where I work. I’ve been meaning to run here for a change of scenery so I thought today is the perfect day to do that.

See you later for a recap of my delicious spin on Giada’s Lemon Basil Salmon and pasta.

Fantastic site, I really like your writing style. Very distinctive and easy to follow. On a lot of blogs people just drone on and on, but not you – very nice. Please check out my comedy blog at http://www.DomainB.org and let me know what you think of it. Keep up the great work!
