Simple Morning

by Lauren on October 14, 2009

Good afternoon fellow food lovers.

Last night I felt awful after dinner. I am not sure what kind of virus I have, but it is kicking me in the butt. I have not had soda since I started this blog, but last night I needed ginger ale. I know there is no ginger in ginger ale, but something about it calms my stomach. So Chris was nice enough to go out and get me some diet ginger ale, and it actually helped me out a lot! I was able to sleep the whole night through with out getting up at 5 in the morning and feeling sick. However, I was so happy to be sleeping finally and not feeling ill, that I did not want to wake up this morning for my 6 miles.

The thought of getting up and running in the cold (it is 20 degrees colder today then yesterday) was the last thing I wanted to do now that I was finally feeling better. So I slept in. I needed it. I decided that I will take this week and only this week off from running, and then get back into the swing of things next week. I need to changed my workout schedule to fit this new change. My body really needs a break right now, and I need to get back to feeling 100%.

However I did do my morning routine because I my arms have lost a lot of their tone since I stopped doing the routine in the morning. And I don’t want that to happen.

  • 3 sets of 20 kneeling push-ups
  • 2 sets of 60 leg lifts each leg

When I got to work I found out that my co-worker called in sick with the same thing I have. I think it is going around my store..eeek!

Breakfast was super simple. I’m trying to keep my meals simple for a while so my stomach doesn’t feel worse than it already is. Breakfast was Vanilla Stonyfield Oikos, a 1/4 C raspberries, and 1 banana with coffee on the side. Breakfast was good, but not that filling.

Lunch didn’t come too much later. It was a random concoction of leftovers. I had spaghetti squash from this meal, black eyed peas from this meal, and mushrooms and turkey pepperoni from this meal.

Such a random concoction of food, but it was actually pretty decent. I love this turkey pepperoni! It only has 70 calories for 17 slices and 9 grams of Protein. That’s awesome! And these mushrooms are baby portabella mushrooms. They are earthy with a slight sweetness and have MUCH more flavor then regular white mushrooms.

I enjoyed a 1/4 of a lavash on the side. This was the perfect lunch with veggies, protein, and few carbs.

I have a great Giada De Laurentiis dinner planned for tonight. Can not wait! I have a lot going on right now, and I feel like the blog and working out has sort of fallen through the cracks. I am trying to organize everything in my life to get back on the track I was on before. I work much better when things or organized.

P.s. I officially signed up for Run! Geek! Run! yesterday and Turkey Chase. WOOHOO!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Ill add ya to my google reader. As for your question about nutritional yeast.. its basically deactivated yeast that can be used as an ingredient or as a condiment. It’s real popular with vegans bc it has protein and B complex. It took me awhile to warm up to it, but now I really like it. It has almost a cheesy taste to it!
I like it on popcorn! You can usually find it in bulk at health food stores :)

Have a good one!
