New Workout Schedule Posted

by Lauren on October 12, 2009

Some bad news and some good news. The bad news is I was playing around with my blog the other day and started deleting pictures out of my media library thinking they were already posted. Nothing happened on my blog until TODAY when I noticed all my pictures missing. I am so bummed and some pictures are lost forever, but I will spend most of tonight re-uploading pics for the posts that matter. What a bummer!

In the good news now that my first 3 races are done and over I decided I needed something to still keep me going and staying in shape. It is very hard for me to just workout on a daily basis if I don’t have anything that is driving me (besides the fact of staying in shape). I needed another goal or goals. I decided to sign up for a few more races through the end of the year as well as make a workout schedule. Picking the race was tough for me because I wanted to sign up for every single one. I had to pick and choose wisely. I love The Washington Running Report because you can see all the races going on in your area along with results and pictures from races. In searching for races I also came across the Montgomery County Road Runners. I was very happy when I saw this because I have been looking for a group to run with on some trails in DC.

I have said this time and time again, but working out is so hard for me. I will make every excuse not to, and since I have been participating in these races I have realized the only thing that keeps me getting up in the morning and working out is knowing I have a goal, and that goal is these races.

Now that my long distance races are finished for the year, I also have a goal of doing MUCH more strength training to tone my body. This is something that just fell through the cracks when training for my half marathons. I was so focused on running I forgot to actually work my muscles.

Today I made a workout schedule that I hope to stick to everyday. Some workouts are subject to change due to weather, but for the most part I think I planned well. You can check out my workout schedule HERE!

You can also check out the schedule under my Staying Fit section to keep updated on how I am doing. You can also find the link on the side of my blog under Workout Schedule.

P.s. I love google docs. I first saw it on Megan and Kelly’s Blogs. I am a little obsessed!

Hey, I really enjoy your blog. I have a blog too in a totally unrelated field (Online Stock Trading) but I like to check in here on a regular basis, just to see what’s going on and it’s always interesting to say the least. It’s always entertaining what people have to say.
