Fun Times with Kelly

by Lauren on October 14, 2009

Tonight my best friend Kelly came over for dinner. We decided to make a pizza from scratch (sorta) and have some great wine and talking time. Before I left work I had a few snacks.

Peach

Mini Larabar in Apple Pie-very good by the way

Dove chocolate with almonds. I couldn’t resist. The co-worker brought this back and it was staring at me so I had to! LOL

When Kelly got to my house we started on the pizza. I had a whole wheat pizza dough I bought from Trader Joe’s, and we decided to do half of the pizza with mozzarella and turkey pepperoni and the other half with goat cheese, onions, mushrooms, and arugula. We cut up the veggies and rolled out the dough. Then we topped!

Before we had the pizza I grilled up these chicken and apple grillers I got at the Amish Market. So amazing. They tasted so fresh with such a great flavor!

The pizza came out unbelievable. It was so so good.

I liked both types, and I really enjoyed the whole wheat dough.

We had this bottle of Grotta Del Sole Gragnano 2008 with our pizza which is the perfect pairing with Neapolitan style pizza. Even though ours was not exactly Neapolitan style it is perfect with ANY pizza! It is a slightly sparkling, off-dry red, Italian wine. It is loaded with red fruit, and must be served cold. Its like pizza-cola, and perfect for parties and friends. It was just an outstanding pairing for this pizza.

Such a great night and food and friends! I love pizza and Kelly!

I still feel sick to my stomach and I am starting to get really nervous about why. I haven’t really changed my diet, but I just feel nauseated 24/7. Tomorrow is my first day back running after my 1/2 marathon last Saturday, and I think I really need to take a close look at what I am eating. I must get better soon!

Night!

Who can resist DOVE milk chocolate with almonds?! Have you tried the new peanut butter promises? The smooth, authentic milk chocolate and creamy peanut butter just melt in your mouth!

The pizza you whipped up looks amazing!

I absolutely LOVE that tj’s dough! It’s so hearty and crisps up nicely. And Dove is the best. But I like their dark chocolate :)
