Finger Lickin' good

Well it is one of those days already. It was cold, dark, and raining this morning so of course I slept through my alarm…twice! Yep, totally didn’t make it up in time for 30 day shred. But I did get in a quick morning routine.

  • 2 sets 60 reps leg lifts/each leg
  • 3 sets 20 reps kneeling push-ups

So instead I finished my lunch and dinner prep since I will be at work all day and then heading straight to Georgetown Runnin Co. for a group night run. I want to make sure I don’t starve so I brought dinner with me. Prep work takes a lot of time and thought!

This morning was leftover pumpkin oats from yesterday. I had about 3/4 C left and I decided to have them in my almost empty Almond Butter jar.

This jar had a little more nut butter inside than yesterdays. I also added a peach to the mix. First I heated up the oats with the peach.

Then I added them to the jar and mixed around. I didn’t even need agave today because the peach added so much sweetness. This was really good.

I literally scraped every last ounce of almond butter out of the jar. I was getting my fingers all messy and licking them too. It was quite a scene. What a girl will do for a little almond butter.

The breakfast was accompanied by a large “to go” mug of coffee. My dark roast Cubano coffee from Costco is quite good!

I really hope the rain subsides for my run tonight. I am desperate to get this run in. I have a race THIS Saturday, and I have really been slacking in the running area. If you haven’t noticed from the workout schedule I took some time off from running after my last race, and I haven’t seemed to get back into the groove yet. I haven’t stopped cold turkey, but I’m definitely not running as much as I should be. It is so much harder when it gets colder and darker out in the fall/winter. It takes every ounce of motivation I have to get up and work out. If you have any tricks to doing this PLEASE let me know. Like I said yesterday I signed up for Caitlin and Bobbi’s Pile on the Mile Challenge, and I’m hoping that will motivate me a bit.

I am not really nervous about my race on Saturday. I know I have taken some time off, but I am still taking it seriously. I’m not expecting to PR this race. I just want to go out there, run, and have fun. Isn’t that what it’s all about? And plus it will be Halloween!!!

Have a great day!
