Crazyness, oatmeal, and yoga

My life has been insane this week. I’ve said that a lot, but its true. So insane that I didn’t even get to blog lunch or dinner last night. Sometime when life gets crazy I tend not to think about what I’m eating, but I’m happy to say that wasn’t the case yesterday. I made sure to fill up on lots of veggies and protein, and my snacks were fruit and yogurt. I had dinner at Chris’ family house, and by that point I just wanted to enjoy my dinner instead of take pictures and blog about it. It was an extraordinary dinner, and you will get to see a peek of what we had at lunch today. They gave me all the leftovers to have for lunch. I can not wait!

Along with a crazy schedule my mood has been a bit down these past two days. I woke up this morning and I had NO desire to work out. On the work out schedule I had a Jillian Michaels DVD planned, but I decided to switch today’s work out with Sunday’s workout and do a yoga download instead. Plus I wanted to get some other things done before work because I don’t get home till very late tonight.

You may ask yourself ‘why does she make a workout schedule if she doesn’t follow it?” Well I do follow it for the most part, but it is a way to keep me motivated about working out, and I do better when on a schedule. I may switch days around depending on the mood or weather, but if I didn’t have a schedule at all I don’t think I would wake up to work out at all.

Even though I had a big dinner last night, I woke up feeling pretty hungry. I decided to have some breakfast before doing yoga. I was really in the mood for oatmeal so that is exactly what I made. I have really been listening to my cravings and fulfilling them because that is important to me. If you don’t eat what you want than you usually are not satisfied and you crave it later. At least that happens for me. It was a typical October breakfast and a delicious breakfast too.

I put one packet of Quaker Cinnamon and Spice, 1/2 C Quaker Old Fashion Oats, and 2 big dallops of Peanut Butter & Co. Might Maple Peanut Butter in a bowl and heated the oats up in the microwave. I had all these leftover packets from a hotel breakfast buffet and I finally used them up. This breakfast was so so good, and so filling.

I had the last of my strawberries on the side with a mug of coffee

And a delicious breakfast it was. I think I might be obsessed with this peanut butter. It is awesome!

Before yoga download I did the same exact morning routine as I did yesterday. Leg lifts, push-ups, and crunches. I’ve been meaning to try Anne’s arm strengthening moves for a while. Maybe I will incorporate those into the routine tomorrow.

This was my first time doing yoga download, and I really had no idea what to expect. I have seen many people in the blog world doing yoga download so I went to the site to check it out. They have so many different styles to choose from and you can try each one for free. I glanced over the site quickly (I plan to look at it in more detail tonight), but it looks like each free session is 20 minutes and then you can purchase the longer session for a small fee. This is definitely worth it to me because I get nervous about doing yoga in front of people and would so much rather do it in my own home. Plus the yoga places around me are so darn expensive. I just don’t have money to spend like that. So this seemed like a perfect alternative for me. I found the one I wanted to do this morning, Morning Flow #1, and proceeded to download the free session. You just have to fill out a bit of information and then you are on to download the link. It could not be more simple or easy. However, I wasn’t aware that this is not like a DVD. You download a PDF of the poses, and then you download the guide that tells your what to do. So you need to somewhat know what they are telling you to do. I do much better when I’m watching someone do the poses, so I did have to get used to this. However it was relaxing and I am happy I made myself do some sort of exercise/stretching this morning. It’s better than nothing.

I have a lot of really exciting things coming up in the next few weeks that I can’t wait to share with you so look forward to that in the future!!!!

Does your mood affect the way you workout and eat?

Hi Lauren!

I live in Melbourne, but grew up in Brisbane. Melbourne does have all four seasons, autumn here is my favourite. At the moment though, I’m just really hanging out for summer!

Brisbane is just winter and summer, and winter really isn’t very cold at all. I miss Brisbane weather a lot, I LOVE summer and having an outdoor lifestyle.

But.. Melbs is just a better fit for me overall. It’s been really nice to run at the moment not too hot not too cold, but I’m nervous for those 40 degree celcius days! I guess I’ll just guzzle loads of water and get through :)

You should definitely come back to Australia if you ever get the chance, and you are more than welcome to stay with me and The Boy if you do – we love visitors :)

ABB

PS: my mood effects everything – eating/exercise/motivation/what I wear/who I want to hang out with… :) I guess I’m a bit of a girl like that!
