October’s Wine of the Month has been decided!!!

As the weather gets cooler people tend to gravitate towards red wines. Reds tend to be bigger, broader, and more suitable for the cold weather. I recently got to taste the 2006 vintage of the Columbia Crest Reserve Cabernet and was really blown away. The 2005 vintage received 95 points from Wine Spectator. Now the 2006 is a little different then the 05, but I really loved it. It is big and plush, and has the velvety-ness of a Merlot. The wine opens with ripe fruit like black cherries, black currant, violet, and black tea. It proceeds to a palate of rich smooth baking spice and cocoa. The wine finishes soft and savory. Drink the wine by itself or with a nice steak, but either way you will be satisfied.
