Choices

by Lauren on October 2, 2009

I wasn’t originally going to share with you what I ate today because my food choices were not very “healthy living blog style”. But then I thought about why I created a blog, and it was to share with you my journey to maintaining healthy and happy. I’m not perfect, and sometimes I don’t eat very well. I am still learning and growing, so I felt like I needed to be honest and share some of my meals today. They aren’t the best, but like I said, I still struggle everyday with making good food decisions.

I really wasn’t hungry after my run this morning which is strange, but I ate a Pure bar on the way to work.

Lunch was a chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and leftover Stilton from last night’s Port tasting. This would have been good with a little something sweet on it. There was way too much spicy and salty going on. While I was making the sandwich I was munching on Stilton and whole wheat crackers. (I could have done with out this)

Snacks were some nuts and other things not pictured, and dinner was a easy pop in the oven pizza. I really like Freschetta because it is not greasy and has lots of veggies. So I had 4 small slices of that. Really not the best pizza. Another snack was a whole wheat pita and some salsa. (sorry no pics)

Now I’m enjoying a glass of Columbia Crest Cabernet while watching some Grey’s Anatomy.

Better choices tomorrow because I have my big race on Saturday! Ahh I am really really nervous!

Once in a while I choose taste over health when it comes to food so don’t worry, you don’t do it everyday :)

Good luck with your race on Saturday! Can’t wait to read about it!
