Breakfast of Champions

by Lauren on October 20, 2009

We have so much yet to do to get ready for a huge 21st Birthday Bash at work. Things are a bit hectic so this is going to be a pretty short post. This morning I woke up and did my morning wake-up routine.

  • 2 sets 60 reps leg lifts/each leg
  • 3 sets 20 reps kneeling push-ups

I decided on my days off from working out I would do some stretching to stretch my muscles. Hopefully this will help keep my body from being sore after strength training and running. So I did some nice long stretches after my morning routine. This was actually very relaxing and I enjoyed this addition to my morning routine.

I also prepped everything for my dinner tonight. I cut up all the veggies for my stir-fry.

  • Snow peas
  • Carrots
  • Baby Bok Choy
  • Asparagus
  • Onions

Now all I have to do is actually cook the veggies and chicken and make the rice. Super easy!

Breakfast was small and calorie-rich. I ran out of the house this morning and grabbed the first thing I could think of. Coffee, granola, and yogurt. Now don’t get my wrong, I love granola and yogurt, but this was not the best breakfast decision. High in calories, and not terribly nutrient and vitamin rich.

I used the other half of the Greek yogurt I had yesterday

And topped it with this sample of Cascadian Farms Organic Granola. This was a sample I got in the swag from the Baltimore Half Marathon.

It was actually really good, but the entire breakfast tasted like dessert. However it has kept me semi- full so I was able to work straight through until lunch.

Lunch today was leftover chili, 1/2 of a Lavash toasted, and 1 garden veggie burger.

It was good, but for some reason didn’t fill me up like I had hoped. A few hours later I was so hungry again so my snacks today were:

Sweet Leaf Frozen Yogurt with blackberries, raspberries, and mango-Simply Amazing

And I was greeted by these little guys at the door

And a Kashi dark chocolate and cherry TLC bar

I have had a lot of carbs and calories today and I didn’t even work out!! eeek. But my dinner will be tons of veggies so hopefully I can make up for it there.

I have a lot to get done so hopefully this will hold me over until dinner tonight.
