I almost forgot to mention that today is exactly one month until my very FIRST 1/2 marathon. It’s a little nerve racking, but I know I will be fine.
So it’s nearing the end of the work day, and what a CRAZY day it has been. I guess that is a good thing-makes the time go by faster. I felt really sluggish this afternoon. I had the worst head ache, and my body felt like it needed nutrients. But I didn’t understand this because I felt like I had eaten so much already. Maybe I’m just burning more calories running then I thought? Or maybe its just one of those days? I’m really trying to be in tune with my body, and eat the nutrients I need to keep me energized to run and work out, but not over-do it at the same time. Sometimes it can be very tough!
I had a frozen lemonade Popsicle, and that didn’t do anything. I walked to the 7-11 (it is seriously the only thing around my work to get snacks), and I got a bag of pretzels (the bag with the least amount of calories in case I ate the whole thing), and I found some Whole Raw All Natural Almonds. So I chose those as well. I ate about 3/4 of each one (more then I wanted to) but it really worked. The combination of protein and carbs curbed my hunger and made me feel so much better.

This picture was taken AFTER I ate 3/4 of each bag. Oh well!
I had planned on having some of my moms home-made lentil soup for dinner, but I’m not even hungry yet. However, I know Chris and I are going out tonight for a birthday party and we will be out late so I want to eat SOMETHING for dinner before I go. I had a small bowl of the soup before I left work.

We are having drinks and small plates, but it won’t be until 9:30, and I rather not eat anything that late so I chose to have dinner before hand. I have such a hard time turning down delicious looking food when I start to get hungry late at night so I plan to bring an apple with me to munch on on the way there.
Pictures to come tomorrow of tonight’s fun!

The only reason I’m excited for winter is so lentils will become a regular occurrence in my life!
