I did it!

Alright so dinner last night was great. It was so great to see Kelly and catch up with her. I haven’t seen her since BEFORE my trip to Italy. We went to our fave restaurant, Levante’s (she is the one that introduced me), and we split a cold mezze plate. You can see my full review of the restaurant here.

Just as good as it always is. I was pleasantly stuffed and ready for my big run for the next day (which happens to be today). So I have to tell you I was SO nervous for this morning-I mean 11 miles is a lot to me! I could barely sleep last night. I got everything ready for my run last night. I had iPod and Garmin charging, and the clothes laid out.

I decided to wear my old shoes because I didn’t feel like dealing with blisters today. I was also planning on trying these new Gummies for the run.

Now what I am about to say might shock you…it certainly shocks me. I’m starting to become a morning person! I know..right? This can’t be right. But it’s true. I’m waking up on my own now around 6:30 in the morning, and I love the quietness of the neighborhood at that time. I love coming back from my run and making coffee and having breakfast before going to work. It really puts me on a high!

Because I couldn’t sleep last night I woke up at 6 and was wide awake. I decided to get up instead of waiting any longer. I did my morning wake-up routine which consisted of my leg lifts and push-ups, and headed out the door. I started my run this morning about 6:50am just as the sun was coming up. The air was cool and crisp. Everything felt great! Until mile 7. I started feeling so sluggish around 7. When I run I don’t hurt, or get tired, I just get bored. My mind races and I try to think of something to occupy me, but I seriously get bored! So around 7 I was having some trouble keeping my stamina up. I decided to try the new gummies around this mile. They were OK, but definitely not as good as my Luna Moons. They were not very sweet, and not as chewy. They left a slightly weird taste in my mouth. I need more Luna Moons!

Anyways I finished strong. I was so proud of myself I could cry…seriously! This is a huge accomplishment for me. Here are my stats:

  • Distance: 11.46 miles
  • Time :1:47:44
  • Average Pace: 9:24min/mile

I’ll take that. All my miles were under 10 minutes which is awesome for me, and miles 10 was a 8:48 mile. Yea! So now I’m enjoying my freshly ground coffee and having some breakfast. Work is a big day today. We are having a mini festival at the store, which is always a little bit crazy. We are featuring Italian and Spanish wines. I’ll do a little recap later. See you then!
