Lodali

We tasted a lot of wines at Lodali and all of them were very good. The ones that stood out in my mind were the Barbera, Barbaresco, and Barolo Lurens 2006. These were some of my favorites from the trip. Because we had them with dinner I didn’t take many notes, but this is what I remember.

Lodali Barbera Lorens 2006:
Big, plush, juicy, dark fruit, a little baking spice, medium bodied, and delicious.

Lodali Barbaresco Lorens 2006:
Very full bodied, powerful, loads of dark fruit, lots of acidity, and a little chocolate on the finish. I love big wines, and I absolutely loved this wine, it was so good!

Lodali Barolo Lorens 2006:
For me, this was right in between the Barbera and the Barbaresco. It was still big, and plush, but had a softness to it. It was very well balanced. Again I got baking spice and a little chocolate, but still loads of dark fruit and lovely tannins. I loved this wine as well.

Lodali Moscato d’Asti 2008:

This is a pleasant after dinner wine. It is not as sweet as other dessert wine, but very refreshing. Pairs well with chocolate or even sorbet. I always taste a hint of mint on the palate. But in an case this wine is refreshing and sweet, and yummy. If you like sweet wine you can drink it any time of day-not just with dessert.
