La Giustiniana

Now I tasted a lot of wine when I was in Italy. So instead of writing a review for every single wine, I decided to spare you and just write a review on my favorites. We started out at La Giustiniana. Here were my favorites:

La Giustiniana Gavi di Gavi Lugarara 2008:
027
This wine is one of my favorite white wines. Made from 100% cortese, it is dry and crisp, yet has a lovely fruit profile as well. Very round, nice acidity, and very easy to drink. Pairs perfectly with any type of shellfish or fried fish. It was delicious with the creamy risotto we had at the estate. This wine we carry in our store, and I just love to sell it!

La Giustiniana Gavi di Gavi Montessora 2008:
029
The first time I tried this wine was at the La Giustiniana estate. It is a bit more floral on the nose and on the palate then the Lugarara. Really pretty fruit, very fresh, and very elegant. Would be perfect with a more sophisticated shellfish like oysters.

La Giustiniana Il Nostro Gavi 2006:
098
This wine was rich, creamy, very complex, and paired perfectly with the fried anchovies we had with it. Just delicious. This is a pairing I won’t forget from my trip

La Giustiniana Il Nostro Gavi 2007: I liked this wine, but not as much as I liked the 2006 vintage. This was one fresher, crisper, more acidic, but because of the age on the 06 it just made the wine more complete. This wine had fresh cream, where the 2006 has buttery cream.
