Delea

The Delea winery was spectacular. I hated the fact that it was our last stop of the trip so we were overly tired, and didn’t really get to experience it like we should have. We tasted some really stunning wines for them, but the one that sticks out in my mind the most is their white Merlot. We carry this wine in our store. Merlot is the main grape for the Ticino region, and the family makes some outstanding Merlot’s that we tasted with dinner. Really beautiful. I also wrote a review on their Balsamics under the *Gourmet Eats* section of the Reviews page. Be sure to check that out.

Chiar di Luna Bianco di Merlot 2008:

Many people think this wine is sweet, and it is not. The wine is bone dry. It has a light bouquet of citrus and peach. Much more complex than I thought, and really tasty. You could pair this with any type of fish or white meat, summer salads, or even ratatouille. It is refreshing yet intense, which I was not expecting and very savory.
